Stellest® Lenses
in Las Vegas

Advanced vision correction designed to slow childhood myopia

Children’s myopia rarely remains stable. Without proper management, nearsightedness often continues to progress each year, and higher levels of myopia later in life are associated with increased risks of complications such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, and myopic maculopathy.

At iFocus Vision Center, we offer Essilor Stellest lenses in Las Vegas to correct your child’s vision today while helping slow myopia progression over time.

Stellest lenses are more than standard glasses. They’re the first myopia management spectacle lens to receive FDA market authorization, providing families with a clinically supported option for managing childhood nearsightedness.

How Stellest lenses work

Traditional glasses correct the blurred vision associated with myopia, but they don’t address what’s happening inside the eye as myopia progresses. Essilor Stellest lenses are designed to do both.

Each lens is built with Essilor’s H.A.L.T. (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) technology and contains 1,021 microscopic lenslets embedded across the surface. While these lenslets are invisible to the wearer, they remain active throughout the day your child wears the lenses.

Stellest lenses create a continuous optical signal that helps slow axial elongation of the eye. Since elongation of the eyeball is what drives worsening nearsightedness, slowing that process can help reduce the progression of myopia over time.

Children wearing Stellest lenses experienced an average of 71% slower myopia progression compared to those wearing standard single-vision lenses.¹

Are Stellest lenses right for your child?

Myopia management requires a personalized approach, and our experienced eye doctor, Dr. Vivienne Velasco, takes the time to tailor care to each child’s specific vision needs and progression. Multifocal contact lenses and orthokeratology are effective options, but they’re often better suited for older children who can consistently manage a contact lens routine.

Stellest lenses tend to work well for children who:

  • Are too young for contact lenses
  • Have a prescription that’s been increasing each year
  • Do best with full-time wear and no extra routine
  • Want something low-maintenance, comfortable, and non-invasive
  • Aren’t interested in adding daily lens care to their schedule

Stellest lenses FAQ

How long does my child need to wear Stellest lenses?

Most kids wear Stellest lenses during the years their eyes are still developing. It’s normal for prescriptions to change slightly during that time. At each visit, we’ll monitor myopia progression and make any adjustments if needed.

Are Stellest lenses covered by insurance?

It depends on your plan. Myopia management is still a newer category for many insurance providers, which is why we recommend checking with your insurance provider before your child’s appointment. If you need help, our team can also help you understand what your benefits may cover.

Will my child need a second pair of glasses?

Not usually. Stellest lenses are designed for full-time wear, so they can typically be your child’s main pair. A backup pair of glasses is optional but not required.

What if my child struggles to adjust to Stellest lenses?

Most children adjust within a few days. If it takes longer or your child feels any discomfort, it’s important to schedule a follow-up visit. We’ll check the fit and prescription and make any necessary adjustments.
