Contact Lenses
Are you tired of struggling with traditional soft contact lenses that don’t quite work for your eyes? Dr. Velasco offers contact lens exams for those with “hard-to-fit” eyes, so you can finally find a comfortable and effective solution for your vision needs. At iFocus Vision Center, we offer a wide range of contact lenses in Las Vegas, NV to help you see clearly and comfortably. From keratoconus and other corneal conditions to post-LASIK and post-corneal transplant patients, our eye doctor has the expertise and equipment to provide tailored solutions that work for you.
Using advanced technology like the Eaglet Eye Surface Profiler, Dr. Velasco can create customized contact lenses that fit the unique shape of your eyes perfectly. This cutting-edge device uses advanced imaging technology to create a detailed map of your cornea, the front surface of your eye. By analyzing the curvature and topography of your cornea, Dr. Velasco can identify any irregularities that may be affecting the fit of your contact lenses. This information is then used to customize your lenses, so they sit comfortably on your eyes all day long.
Soft contact lenses
At iFocus Vision Center, we offer a variety of soft contact lens options with different wear schedules to fit your lifestyle and budget. Daily disposable lenses are great for occasional wearers or those with allergies who benefit from a fresh pair every day. If you prefer something more long-term, we also offer bi-weekly and monthly disposable soft contact lenses. These lenses can be worn for up to two weeks or a month before needing to be replaced. If traditional soft contact lenses aren’t right for you, Dr. Velasco can recommend options that will fit your eyes better.
Orthokeratology (ortho-k)
These lenses are designed to reshape the cornea while you sleep, providing clear vision during the day without needing glasses or traditional contacts. They not only provide temporary clear vision but are also an effective solution for myopia management.
Rigid gas permeable contact lenses
Keratoconus is a progressive eye disease that causes the cornea to thin and bulge outward, resulting in distorted vision. At iFocus Vision Center, Dr. Velasco has extensive experience fitting custom-made rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses for patients with keratoconus and other corneal conditions, providing them with clear and comfortable vision.
Toric contact lenses
Unlike traditional contact lenses that have a spherical design, toric lenses are specifically designed to correct astigmatism. Astigmatism is a common condition where the cornea or lens of the eye is irregularly shaped, resulting in blurry or distorted vision. Toric lenses have different powers in different meridians of the lens to help compensate for this irregularity and provide clear vision. Toric lenses are weighted at specific points on the lens to prevent rotation and maintain consistent vision correction throughout the day.
Cosmetic contact lenses
We offer a range of cosmetic contact lenses that can help you achieve your desired look. Whether you’re looking for a subtle change or a bold new look, we have options to suit every style and preference. Even if you have 20/20 vision, you need to get an eye exam and a prescription for cosmetic contact lenses to prevent damage to your eyes.
Hybrid contact lenses
Hybrid lenses combine a rigid gas permeable center with a soft outer skirt, providing the clear vision of an RGP lens with the comfort of a soft lens. Whether you have astigmatism, presbyopia, or another complex prescription, hybrid contact lenses can help you see clearly and comfortably all day long.
Contact lenses for presbyopia
For patients with presbyopia (loss of near vision with age) or other age-related vision changes, we have a variety of solutions available. Multifocal lenses combine different prescriptions within the same lens, allowing you to see clearly at all distances without needing reading glasses. Monovision contact lenses are another option, which involves wearing one contact lens for distance vision in one eye and another for near vision in the other eye.
Prosthetic contact lenses
If you’ve been self-conscious about the way your eyes look due to corneal damage or discoloration, prosthetic contact lenses can help restore your confidence and give you a more natural-looking appearance. These custom-made lenses are designed to cover and mask any irregularities on the surface of the eye.
Scleral contact lenses
For those with corneal dystrophies or those who have undergone corneal transplants, finding comfortable and effective contact lenses can be challenging. Dr. Velasco is skilled in fitting scleral lenses—large-diameter contacts that vault over the entire cornea and rest on the white part of the eye (sclera). Scleral lenses provide excellent comfort and vision for those who may have been unable to wear standard contacts in the past.
