With over 19 years of clinical experience, Dr. Velasco provides a comprehensive range of services, including eye disease management, myopia management, and unique eyewear and contact lens solutions for a variety of vision needs. One common complaint we hear from patients is that their current glasses or contacts are causing them discomfort or headaches. This could be due to an incorrect prescription, poorly fitting frames or contacts, or other underlying issues that need to be addressed. Our eye doctor can find the root cause of these issues and provide solutions that will leave you feeling comfortable and confident.
Vivienne Velasco, OD, FAAO

Dr. Vivienne Velasco, an optometrist, founded iFocus Vision Center in 2009 to better serve Las Vegas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 from the University of California, San Diego where she majored in animal physiology and neuroscience with minors in music and psychology. In 2005, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in her hometown of Fullerton, CA.

She completed several internships during her last year in optometry school that gave her a well-rounded background in all facets of optometry. Her first internship landed her at the Wellish Vision Institute in Las Vegas to learn how to manage cornea, glaucoma, and LASIK patients. She then headed to the San Diego Center for Vision Care, a vision therapy clinic where she learned to care for people with visual disabilities caused by crossed eyes, amblyopia (lazy eye), and traumatic brain injuries. Her final internship was at the Santa Barbara Veteran Affairs Clinic where she cared for the wonderful people who have served our country.
Dr. Velasco completed her residency at the Southern Nevada Veterans Affairs Clinic with an emphasis on ocular disease and low vision. She became licensed and certified in the use of the anterior segment laser to treat certain eye conditions through the Northeastern State University of Oklahoma. She is also certified to diagnose and treat glaucoma. She was appointed a fellow in the esteemed American Academy of Optometry in 2007. She likes to focus on aiding patients with abnormal corneas to obtain their best vision with contact lenses. Myopia control is also an area of focus that she enjoys.
